My client and our goals

The owner of the apartment has been living between Russia and Scotland for the last 10 years. Our goal was to create an environment that exuded maximum comfort and relaxation, like a luxury hotel, but with the character and feel of a home. The owners of the apartment requested the creation of a cheerful vibrant open space for their family and a separate area to host the reception of guests. When a guest stays in their designated area, we wanted to create a feeling that the area is self-contained and did not impose on the rest of the home – meaning they can feel comfortable and relaxed as a guest.

My intention was to keep a modern minimalist feel, maximising the use of the open space. To achieve this effect, I removed the walls between kitchen, the adjacent room and the hallway.

All over the apartment – walls ceilings and floor – we installed soundproof insulation, minimising the transfer of noise.

The modern shapes of minimalistic style are obvious – straight lines, cubic forms and clean angles are abundant.

The modernism is softened by the roundness of the furniture and light fixtures to give the place some character and warmth.

The child's room

The child’s room can be easily transformed into a teenager’s room by upgrading the bed and study area. There is a magnetic chalk board to allow scheduling, free flowing ideas, and other creative pursuits to be expressed.

This apartment contains a hall with 2 spacious fitted cupboards. One for outdoor clothes and shoes and the other housing a washing machine, tumble drier and additional utility items.

Led lighted panels in Kitchen & Bathroom

One of the more striking elements of the home is the decorative, waterproof, LED lighted panels imitating semiprecious stones on the wall of the bathroom and kitchen splashback, adding a cheerful and playful spirit.
